In her research and teaching, Ayça focuses on climate change and property rights.

In her PhD thesis, she delves into property owners' perceptions of flood damage and land policy interventions of the public authorities in response to the effects of climate change.

Furthermore, Ayça analyzes changes in land-use, landownership, and population density in urban and natural areas using Geographical Information System (GIS) technologies.
