Prof. Hartmann led an exercise about the results of the working group "Land Policies in Europe" at the Brussels Talk 2025.

On October 1, Thomas Hartmann participated in the Brussels Talk 2025 of the Academy for Territorial Development in the Leibniz Association. The event titled “Land as a Scarce Resource” revolved around the findings of the working group “Land Policies in Europe,” which Professor Hartmann led together with Prof. Andreas Hengstermann of the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. The group completed its work this April with the publication of the book “Land Policies in Europe. Land-Use Planning, Property Rights, and Spatial Development.” At the Brussels Talk, Hartmann led an interactive exercise that invited participants to explore the importance of property rights for spatial planning and land use, using four European cities as examples.
